Sweeping Screw Conveyor
The total discharge screw, used in flat-bottom silos, allows the emptying of the residual cone of product—i.e., the remaining material after gravity discharge—by conveying the leftover material toward the center where the outlet spouts are located. The movement of the material is achieved through drag action, thanks to the spiral configuration of the screw and its 360° rotation along the silo floor, ensuring complete surface cleaning. This machine has been specifically designed and engineered for the handling of cereals only. It consists of a modular system composed of a head, a foot, and a variable number of intermediate tubes, which together form the required length of the system. The head is made of thick steel sheet and includes a gear motor. Each screw is engineered to withstand the load of the material above it, as it is installed at the bottom of the silo. The intermediate sections housing the screw are modular and are bolted together using flanged joints. All screw conveyors are designed in compliance with current standards and regulations, and are delivered with the required technical documentation.
