San Girolamo Church is one of Cremona’s most treasured landmarks, a place where art, history and local identity come together. Preserving and enhancing this heritage is a shared responsibility, and it is from this commitment that the partnership between Ocrim, the Cathedral Institution of Cremona and the Diocesan Office for Cultural Heritage was established.
The agreement marks the beginning of a restoration programme for the eighteenth-century San Girolamo Church, located in Via Sicardo and affiliated with Cremona Cathedral. Thanks to Ocrim’s support, the first phase of the project will focus on upgrading the church’s lighting system, improving the visibility of its artistic and decorative features while making the building more accessible and welcoming for both residents and visitors.
This initial intervention is only the starting point of a long-term collaboration. Future restoration activities will be developed through a comprehensive plan prepared by the Diocesan Office for Cultural Heritage and carried out under the supervision of the relevant heritage authorities, ensuring a coordinated approach to the church’s full recovery and enhancement.
