In increasingly demanding production environments, efficiency, reliability and optimal use of space must be carefully balanced. This was the challenge addressed together with Caviro Extra, a benchmark company in the valorisation of by-products from the wine and agri-industrial supply chains.
The objective was to optimise the palletising process of tartaric acid in 20 and 25 kg bags, ensuring high performance even within limited space and integrating the new line seamlessly into the existing production flow.
The requirement was clear: to develop a compact, high-performance solution capable of fitting into established workflows without disrupting them. The system therefore had to guarantee precise bag handling, correct positioning of empty pallets, management of cardboard sheets at the base and between layers, as well as stable and uniform pallet formation.
To meet these requirements, Ocrim’s End-of-Line Division designed a multifunction robotic gripper integrating all the necessary operations into a single unit. This approach made it possible to minimise space requirements, improve handling efficiency and deliver a compact, safe and reliable solution. The modular structure of the line, combined with the integration of all functions into one gripping device, ensured full compliance with the customer’s operational constraints without compromising layout or functionality.

This project builds on a collaboration previously established during a project developed at the Tartarica Treviso facility, further strengthening the relationship between Caviro Extra and Ocrim. It reflects our ability to respond to evolving industrial needs through tailored engineering solutions and consolidated technical expertise.
The new line is now fully operational and tested. Daily operation highlights tangible benefits, including smoother and safer end-of-line flows, stable and uniform pallet management, and increased operational efficiency without expanding the overall footprint. This installation confirms that technology, engineering, custom design and specialised know-how can coexist effectively in confined spaces without compromising performance.
