In the industrial area of Cremona, Milling Hub – the result of the collaboration between Ocrim and Bonifiche Ferraresi – stands as a hub of innovation and tradition in the Italian milling art. This cutting-edge complex, inaugurated in 2021, represents a point of reference for the entire agri-food chain, ensuring the traceability of Italian raw materials from the field to the finished product.
Recently, Milling Hub has taken a further step forward with the introduction of a re-grinding line, which involves the refining of the semolina produced by the milling section of the adjacent mill. The semolina is extracted from a storage cell and transferred to a control weigher. The particle size reduction of the product and the classification take place through a delicate process, autonomous and independent from the existing semolina mill. The re-ground product, once it has reached the required quality characteristics, is weighed and transferred to storage and then to a dedicated bagging line.
Thanks to a parallel process, this new line allows to optimize the use of the different types of incoming grains, guaranteeing a homogeneous and constant quality finished product. Furthermore, the flexibility of the entire system allows to adapt the characteristics of the semolina to the needs of the market, ensuring a high production versatility.

This implementation represents a further step forward for Milling Hub confirming its strategic role in the milling sector, strengthening – consequently – the position of Ocrim and Bonifiche Ferraresi as undisputed top players in the Italian agri-food supply chain.
