Smooth-wall Steel Silo

Smooth-wall steel silos are designed for short- or long-term storage of grains, granular products, or flours. They can be round with a flat bottom, conical-bottomed, or square with 45° chamfered corners to prevent product residue buildup. They are characterized by improved material flow. The structure is made of smooth steel sheet panels with external reinforcement uprights, using structural steel grade FE S350GD with a minimum zinc coating of Z450 – Z600 g/m², or alternatively Zinc-Magnesium alloy. The special GEOMET bolting system ensures long-lasting durability of materials, even in environments with high pollution levels. The roof is composed of trapezoidal steel segments with a 31° slope, bolted to stiffening ribs, and equipped with an inspection hatch and a blue fiberglass cap. The structures are calculated in accordance with DIN 1055 standards, and for seismic zones, special design adaptations are made based on applicable regulations.
