If accurate and up-to-date, AI can generate real value; without it, its potential remains untapped. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocrim has embarked on a research and development journey to apply AI in optimizing production and maintenance. Data collection is carried out through the <strong>MES Management@mill system<\/strong>, which manages raw materials, processing cycles, maintenance, and energy consumption. These data are securely stored on the <strong>Ocrim Cloud<\/strong>, ensuring protection and continuous access to feed the algorithms.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main areas of experimentation include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Advanced Production Planning: <\/strong>AI suggests the optimal processing sequence by considering recipes, consumption, and energy costs, enhancing productivity without replacing the operator\u2019s decision-making role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Predictive Maintenance<\/strong>: shifting from a reactive to a predictive approach, AI analyzes historical and real-time data to prevent breakdowns, optimize interventions, and reduce plant downtime.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Virtual Assistant (under development)<\/strong>: a digital support tool that uses simulated scenarios to help operators make more informed decisions regarding settings and plant management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The goal?<\/strong> Improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, and extend plant longevity, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Thomas Eliot once said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2b9305976ce1ee5cd6e2e2b66098adbe\"><blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?
